Feed My Starving Children Day

On January 23, 2014, the entire staff of St Clair Technologies, Chandler, joined forces with the organization Feed My Starving Children (www.fmsc.org) whose sole mission is to provide food to hungry orphans and vulnerable children. Their approach is simple: hand-packed meals are specifically formulated for malnourished children and are then shipped to nearly 70 countries around the world. At this time, the Philippines are the main focus after Typhoon Haiyan. St. Clair’s staff is always up for a challenge and because we are a manufacturing  company the team wanted to excel in the process of packing the meals and clearly demonstrated this by the amount of finished boxes. We completed 83 boxes containing 36 packages each, which resulted in the delivery of 17,928 individual meals for desperately needy children. The team effort successfully equate to feeding 49 children for a year!

St Clair Technologies president, Charlie Hess, takes time out of his busy day to fight hunger around the world: “I am proud of my team and company for supporting a very worthy cause,” says Charlie, knowing that more than 6000 children around the world die of starvation each and every day.  “The exercise was rewarding for all of us, as it presented a challenging team building experience while reminding us how hard our manufacturing group works every day.  We are all a part of a global ecosystem, and although we cannot change the entire world, we can responsibly do our part to make a difference.”

“It is easy to go about our lives and not give back or even think about it” said Dwain Broad, IT Manager at St Clair Technologies. Dwain was very thankful for organizations such as Feed My Starving Children. They do all of the leg-work and the staff at St Clair Technologies partnered by committing the time and packing the meals. “What a blessing to be a part of this opportunity and I do thank the leadership of St Clair Technologies for allowing our Chandler staff to be able to give back in this manor. “I went home that day knowing that sometimes successes at work are more than just what we do at the office.  I know that day we made a difference” said Dwain; “and I know that it will change lives for good well into the future”.
